Understanding the New Transforming Episode Accountability Model
Description:
The five-year TEAM model starts on January 1, 2026 – just months away. Now is the time for hospitals to understand and prepare for the impacts of the program since it affects payment for five surgical procedures and will be mandatory for 31 hospitals in Minnesota. The TEAM model has similarities to CMS’ prior “bundled payment” models such as the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model, as providers will be financially at-risk for episodes of care during the hospital inpatient stay or outpatient procedure and for services following hospital discharge. This webinar will provide an overview of TEAM and provide recommendations for how to prepare for it.
Learning Objectives:
· TEAM’s model design, payment methodology, risk adjustment strategy and included quality measures.
· Updates to TEAM finalized in the Fiscal Year 2026 Inpatient Prospective Payment System Final Rule.
· Strategies and resources that hospitals can use to begin preparing now.
· Key concepts to build a strong analysis foundation.
