The Nurse and Patient Safety Act, effective July 1, 2023, mandates new protocols for hospitals to prevent violence, requiring them to develop a Violence Preparedness and Incident Response Action Plan. Hospitals must submit this plan to the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) by Jan. 1, 2025, and annually thereafter. In this webinar, MDH will outline the plan's requirements and discuss Conditions of Participation concerning violence prevention and response measures.
