About
2021 is a budget year for the Minnesota Legislature and lawmakers must pass a budget for the upcoming biennium. Because health and human services spending is a significant portion of the state budget, the hospital and health system community is needed to advocate on behalf of patients and communities to ensure health care needs are met. The Legislature will also continue to focus on the response to the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recovery. Join MHA Vice President of Government Relations Mary Krinkie as she discusses MHA’s public policy agenda, including telehealth legislation, for the 2021 legislative session.

Mary Krinkie is the vice president of government relations at the Minnesota Hospital Association, directing MHA’s policy and advocacy efforts. Since joining MHA in 2001, Krinkie has navigated numerous pieces of complex legislation through the state legislative process. Her ability to work with both Democrat and Republican majorities has been a key component of MHA’s advocacy success. Krinkie is recognized as a persuasive voice for the hospital community. She is a frequent presenter at many of the MHA education and trustee programs. She served on the Metropolitan Council as an appointee of former Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
Prior to joining MHA, Krinkie worked as a lobbyist with the law firm of Lockridge, Grindal and Nauen, one of the state’s leading government relations firms.
