The COVID-19 pandemic has profoundly altered health care and nearly every aspect of the economy and life in the US. And yet, many of the underlying dynamics fundamental to health care remain. One of these is the time-honored fact that health care is provided by people, for people. The emergence of COVID-19 has made this more apparent. This presentation will review the emerging methods that hospitals, medical groups and other health care facilities are using to retain and recruit medical staff during COVID-19 as well as factors that should be considered as we emerge from the crisis. The program includes original data from a physician survey conducted by Merritt Hawkins in collaboration with The Physicians Foundation that tracks how physicians are being affected by and are responding to COVID-19. An engaging and instructive look at physician recruiting and retention during a unique time, this presentation is a must for anyone who follows today’s evolving health care trends.
